Stranded van rescued from sea on Burnham beach

These
were the scenes in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday morning (August
25th) when a beach cleaning vehicle was pulled to safety after
getting stuck in the sea.
BARB
(Burnham Area Rescue Boat) sent its tractor to the town's beach,
near Maddock's Slade, where Sedgemoor District Council's beach
cleaning van was surrounded by the incoming tide after staff attempted
to recover the carcass of an animal washed up on the beach.
Beach lifeguards and crews from BARB used a tractor, which itself
briefly became stuck, to tow the stranded vehicle from the water.
No-one was hurt.
