Met Office issues weather alert for Burnham as heavy rain sweeps in

Residents in the Burnham-On-Sea area have being warned to brace themselves for more heavy rain on Wednesday (November 21st) and for the rest of the week.

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the west country, which will be in place overnight until lunchtime on Wednesday.

"Following Tuesday's rain, a spell of heavy and persistent rain is likely to cross southwest England during the first half of Wednesday. The rain should gradually ease from the west during the morning," it says.

"The public should be be aware of the possibility of localised flooding and possible disruption to transport."

A further warning has been issued for more heavy rain and strong winds from 6am on Thursday morning until 6am on Friday.
