Met
Office issues severe weather warning for Burnham-On-Sea area
Burnham-On-Sea
residents have been warned to expect severe weather in the early
hours of Wednesday morning (October 17th) after the Met Office
issued a 'yellow' warning for the region.
"Further
heavy rain, accompanied by high winds, is expected between midnight
and 6am and, with the ground already saturated, this brings a
risk of localised disruption from flooding," added a Met
Office spokesman.
The
Environment Agency has numerous flood warnings in place across
the South West, including along the Bristol Channel coastline
covering Burnham, Brean and Berrow.
It
says strong winds, combined with high tides, could cause flooding.
The high tide in Burnham will be at 8.39am in the morning.
