Busy
start for week-long Burnham-On-Sea yard sale for Kenyan kids
More
than £1,000 was raised for an African charity on the first
day of a week-long yard sale which is being held at a Burnham-On-Sea
home.
Sue
Stevens and friends are holding the fundraising sale at 41 Margaret
Crescent, just off Burnham's South Esplanade, in aid of Educate
The Kids, a charity that helps Kenyan schoolchildren.
The
yard sale is being each day, from 10am-4.30pm, between May 5th-12th
with scores of bargains available.
"We
were delighted with the number of visitors at our first day, with
over £1,000 being raised - quite incredible, " Sue
told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"A
full range of household effects, from quality clothes for men,
women and children, to extensive beach clothing and swimwear is
being sold plus toys, African jewellery and more."
Sue
added: "The people of Burnham have always been very supportive
of Educate the Kids and many local people now sponsor Kenyan children
through their education via our charity."
