A brand new youth trust that aims to help to help youngsters in the area was formally launched in Burnham-On-Sea on Monday (November 26th).
Burnham’s Diamond Jubilee Youth Trust intends to engage with local youths and encourage them to foster a community spirit and civic pride.
The new group is not just focused on raising money but also wants to offer local youngsters the benefit of expertise and life experiences.
The Trust, which is the brainchild of Ken Hindle and Ian Jefferies, is also keen to work with groups of a similar nature to exchange advice and knowledge.
“A management committee has been set up to receive contributions and raise funds, where appropriate, and anyone who has an interest in assisting the trust can apply to become a member,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We would particularly appreciate younger people joining us and becoming pro-active.”
Monday’s launch coincides with the Trust making a donation to Burnham Dreamscheme to purchase a badge-making machine, as pictured here.
The young people of the Dreamscheme are setting up an enterprise to produce badges, fridge magnets and key rings.
