fundraisers stride out for a dozen charities
fundraisers from Burnham and Highbridge have decided to make 2013
a year of change and challenges by setting themselves fitness
tasks to raise money for a dozen charities.
Noad and Tamara Ellis made a new years resolution to get
healthy and in turn came up with their very own project called
from Sparks Way in Highbridge and Tamara, from Highbridge Road
in Burnham, have decided to take on 12 challenges in 12 months,
to help 12 charities and raise their target of £1,200.
will be raising money for Weston Hospicecare, Secret World Wildlife
Rescue centre in East Huntspill, the RNLI, Westons Freewheelers
and Childrens Hospice South West.
groups benefiting will be Save the Children, Marie Curie Cancer
Care, Cancer UK, Meningitis UK, Sport Relief, Alice Escapes and
a charity which is currently being set up called Bottle Stop.
said: "While trying to get fit we wanted something to keep
us motivated and have something to aim for. The challenges are
relatively small ones, but still quite challenging for us."
hope as our fitness improves this year, next year we shall continue
this project and our challenges will get bigger and better."
The latest challenge will be held this Sunday (February 24th)
when the duo will walking from Burnham to Brean along the beach
in aid of the RNLI, starting at 11am.
