The A38 near Burnham-On-Sea was closed on Sunday morning (August 11tn) following a head-on collision.

Emergency services were called to Badgworth, near Rooksbridge, after two vehicles collided shortly before 7.30am.

The accident, at the junction of the A38 with Biddisham Lane, left one person trapped in their vehicle.

Fire crews were called to the scene and a spokesman said: “Crews found a two-vehicle head-on collision. A male was still within one of the vehicles.”

“Crews helped the ambulance service with casualty care and environmental packs were used to mop up a fuel spillage.”

The road was closed for over two hours while crews were at the scene. It is understood that one person was taken to hospital.
