Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea, Bridgwater and Taunton were called to a serious road traffic collision last night (Saturday).

Two vehicles collided on the A39 in Bawrdrip at 9.45pm, leaving two people trapped inside.

“Two casualties were extracted by the fire service using hydraulic cutting equipment and stabilisation equipment,” said a fire spokesman.

“The casualties were conveyed to hospital via land ambulance and an air ambulance. Two further casualties were released prior to the arrival of the fire service.”

Police diverted traffic around the scene while emergency services were at the scene.
