Man arrested in Burnham-On-Sea after New Year’s Eve vandalism

-

A man has been arrested by Burnham-On-Sea police following more vandalism in the town centre this week.

Several windows were damaged on New Year’s Eve, including this one at a vacant shop in Abingdon Street and a nearby wall was pushed over.

Police spokeswoman Claire Stanley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to an incident of criminal damage in Abingdon Street at around 11.20pm on New Year’s Eve.”

“Windows and a wall had been damaged. Officers arrested a 25 year-old man who has been bailed to return to a police station at a later date.”

The latest incident comes just a week after two shops in the High Street were attacked by vandals on Christmas Eve, as reported here.
