Safety concerns have led to a flood-damaged footpath at Highbridge’s Apex Park being closed as the district council prepares to carry out repairs.

The lakeside footpath has crumbled away after a winter of heavy rain and flooding, as featured here last year.

Sedgemoor District Council has this week put bollards in place to close the footway ahead of the work starting.

Council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We hope to begin the repairs over the next few weeks and, as a precaution, the path has been closed for health and safety reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.”
