-

A teenage dancer from Burnham-On-Sea performed in front of millions of TV viewers during the opening ceremony of the Rugby League World Cup at the weekend.

Archie Williams was invited to take part in the celebrations at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, were he was watched by thousands of spectators and his proud family.

Archie is a member of a local street dance school, Switch Dance, which works with a firm called Pro Excel that gives children the opportunity to dance at sporting events.

Archie told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was so excited about dancing at the Millennium Stadium. It was fantastic to be part of such a big event. The atmosphere was amazing.”

Archie has previously danced at the Carnegie Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, the CB40 Finals at Lords Cricket Ground, and also took part in a successful World Record attempt for the most backing dancers for a singer with Heather Small at a St George’s Day rugby game at Twickenham.

He added: “I would like to thank Switch Dance and Pro Excel for giving me the chance to take part in these events.”
