Highbridge Arts Festival duo handed long-service awards

-

Two long-standing organisers of Highbridge’s Festival Of The Arts were presented with special awards on Saturday (March 9th) to thank them for their years of involvement.

Marilyn Banks and Anne Bannister received certificates from Festival President Chris Harris, as pictured, at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre.

Marilyn has been involved for 28 years, recently as dance secretary, and Anne for 36 years, recently as speech and drama secretary.

Chris told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Anne and Marilyn have given so much to this event over the past three decades that we wanted to formally thank them for their involvement. Both have been invaluable volunteers.”

The awards are given to voluntary helpers in conjunction with The British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Speech.

Hundreds of talented youngsters from the ages of three upwards are currently competing at the 2013 festival, wich runs from March 7th-16th.
