Burnham tennis players face off in Boxing Day tournament

-

Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club took part in a Boxing Day tournament.

A dozen players took part on a beautifully sunny morning and the matches were competive with Colin Christison and Bernard Hampton winning all their matches.

Avenue Tennis Club Head Coach Vinny Duddy presented Colin and Bernard with the Ron Hines Memorial Trophy, right.

Meanwhile, junior coaching squads will resume with Craig Phillips in the new year from Monday 6th January and the club’s Friday Adult Group will start on 3rd January with Saturday Pay and Play commencing at 9am on 4th January.

The club also has launched two new Winter membership options. Residents can join the club for only £20 per person which will entitle them to play on any Tuesday or Wednesday up to 31st March 2014 and have full use of all club facilities.

Junior membership at the club also starts from as little as £35 per year and coaching is available every night of the week for all standards and ages. For further information, contact the Club on 01278 782758.
