Eight week old badger cub rescued by Secret World wildlife carers

-

The charity’s wildlife carers were alerted after the cute cub was spotted lying next to its dead mother and dead sibling on a road in Devon earlier this week.

“It was only through the sheer determination of one of our volunteers that the cub was eventually found hiding in leaves,” Secret World’s Debbie O’Keefe told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Our volunteer had to scramble through brambles and search the nearby fields to find it.Traumatised and cold, the little cub is now being comforted by five other orphaned badger cubs which are also being cared for at Secret World.”

Meanwhile, Secret World has this week appealed for donations of washing powder and food for its animals.

Pauline Kidner, charity founder, said: “As with human babies, animal babies create lots of washing and the charity is now appealing for donations of non biological washing powder to help with the daily pile of blankets used to keep the babies clean and warm.”

“As the Spring season brings so many wildlife orphans into our centre we are hoping people will support us by donating items such as tinned puppy food, cat food, dog food, kitchen rolls even Weetabix and peanut butter!”
