Bikers raise funds for Burnham-On-Sea rescue hovercraft charity

-

Motorcyclists from across Somerset took part in a fundraising bike ride in aid of a Burnham-On-Sea charity on Sunday (May 26th).

Somerset Motorcycle Group held a 100 mile bike run, starting from Highbridge’s Bristol Bridge Inn and finishing on Burnham’s seafront.

Organiser Norman Templeman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a good turnout of motorcyclists for our fifth annual ‘Hover Run’ in aid of Burnham’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB – a great run was enjoyed by all.”

The bikes gathered at the Bristol Bridge Inn on the A38 in Highbridge and then travelled in convoy along the A38 to Creech St Michael, then over to Ilminster, along the A303 to the Cartgate Roundabout, and across to Wells and Cheddar before finishing at the hovercraft station in Burnham.

The event was one of several being held by the group for BARB this year. The final tally on how much has been raised will be announced by the group in the autumn.

A certificate was presented outside the hovercraft station to thank the group for their five years of support of BARB
