VIP visitor inspects colourful entries at flower show in Brent Knoll

-

Brent Knoll Flower Show’s entries were inspected by a VIP visitor when the event was held on Saturday afternoon (June 29th).

Edna Duncombe, 90, pictured above, was previously a flower arranger for the Queen and the Royal household.

Liz Bream, who accompanied Edna, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Floral arranging was an important part of Edna’s life and she still loves to visit events like this – she’s wonderful.”

The flower show’s co-organiser, Jackie Gilbert, said the event had been a success. “We had over 70 entries and a steady flow of visitors throughout the day. The number of entries was down from some years, but the quality was still high.”

Among the winners in the floral categories was Marion Vining, pictured above, and Angie and Peter Hicks, below, in the vegetable and fruit classes.
