Centre in Burnham-On-Sea shuts down amid funding shortfall
care centre set up in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea has been forced
to shut down this week due to a funding shortfall.
Care Centre in College Street opened
in September last year to provide facilities for self-help
groups and support for sufferers, their carers and families.
manager Gaynor Brown, who co-founded the centre, says the organisation
has struggled to find enough funding to meet its running costs.
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'm very disappointed that we have
had to close. Unfortunately, some promised funding from another
organisation has been withdrawn and that has left us with a shortfall
and no option but to close down."

the year with more than ten groups using our facilities. We expect
