Carnival collection nets £10,765 - a rise of £1,300

total of £10,765 was collected from spectators during Monday
night's Burnham-On-Sea Carnival - an increase of over £1,300
on last year.

Treasurer Jonathan Walter added: "I'm really pleased with
the amount raised. Bridgwater Carnival's collection was down 15%
this year, so to get an increase here in Burnham is great. We
thank everyone who gave donations and collected on the night."
40 volunteers took several hours on Tuesday morning, as pictured
here, counting the tens of thousands of coins that had been thrown
into collection carts and buckets.
funds will be used to help pay the insurance and running costs
of next year's carnival, while the rest will be split between

Walter at the count in Burnham on Tuesday (top).
