Carnival road closures and diversions underway in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Several roads in Burnham-On-Sea are closed during the town’s carnival with diversions in place.

Unlike previous years, carnival entries will only line up along Queens Drive between the Tesco and M5 roundabouts.

This ensures that the Frank Foley Way will remain open over the carnival weekend up until 4pm on Monday 4th November.

The Queens Drive road closure came into effect at 9pm on Saturday (2nd November) and runs until after the carnival on Monday evening. Due to this change, access to Burnham via Edithmead Lane will not be permitted. Access for Edithmead Lane and Home Farm residents will however be maintained.

To assist with Traffic Management, two signed diversion routes are in place:

1. Access to Burnham: Via Highbridge’s Asda roundabout and Burnham Road

2. Access to Berrow and Brean: Via East Brent

To help traffic entering Burnham via Highbridge, the roadworks being carried out along Burnham Road have been cleared until Tuesday morning (5th November).

– From 21:00 on Saturday 2nd November 2013 until 01:00 on Tuesday 5th November 2013
