New convenience store planned for Burnham-On-Sea High Street

-

A former electrical shop in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea looks set to be turned into a new convenience store.

A firm called Shreeji Enterprises has applied for a premises licence to transform the former Central Radio Services in the High Street.

The firm’s licence application is for a new “convenience store and off-licence” selling alcohol from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week.

The proposals are due to be considered by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council and Sedgemoor District Council’s licensing unit in coming weeks.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here that Central Radio Services was closing after more than 70 years of business. Owner Colin Watts said competition from Internet shopping sites was to blame for the closure.
