off-licence and convenience store to open in Burnham
prominent former electrical shop in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea
has this week moved a step closer to being transformed into a
new off-licence and convenience store.
District Council has granted a new premises licence to Shreeji
Enterprises to transform the former Central Radio Services at
58 The High Street.
firm's licence application is for a new "convenience store
and off-licence" selling alcohol from 6am to 11pm, seven
days a week.
Faun, a spokeswoman for Sedgemoor District Council's licensing
unit, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The licence application has
been fully considered for the new shop - likely to be called 'Bargain
Booze' - and no issues were raised."

soon after Central Radio Services closed
in the autumn after more than 70 years of business. Its owner
said that competition from Internet shopping sites was to blame
for the closure.
