TV star Chris Packham dropped in at a wildlife rescue centre near Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Chris – the presenter of the BBC’s Springwatch – is a patron at Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre in East Huntspill and this week popped in to see some of this year’s badger cubs.

He also again backed the charity’s campaign against the government’s proposed badger cull.

The visit comes as animal lovers are being invited to star as extras in a film being shot in support of the Badger Trust this Sunday (May 19th).

The Badger Trust is urging people opposed to the government-backed cull to join it as it films an advert from above Secret World.

“We shall be filming a unique video emphasising that people can unite peacefully to show the coalition government their abhorrence of what is proposed,” said a spokesman for the Badger Trust.

A wide range of family activities will take place, including a painting competition for children and face painting. The filming rehearsal will take place at 11am and a helicopter will be used to film the video between 1.30pm and 3pm.
