Staff at a Burnham-On-Sea dental surgery have raised hundreds of pounds for charity by completing a fun run.

The College Street Dental team pulled on their running shoes to compete in the 10km Christmas Cracker run and raised over £300 for Weston Hospice in the process.

Nurses Julie Baker and Laura Brown took part with practice manager Karen Jury-Dando (pictured right).

Julie only began running in September when she took up the challenge and finished in a time of 1 hour and 19 minutes. For Karen it was her third time taking part and she finished in 1 hour and 1 minute. Laura, who runs for Taunton Running Club, supported Julie and finished also at 1hr 19 minutes.

Karen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We finished in a good time despite the freezing, windy conditions and are very grateful to everyone who supported us. If anyone wishes to donate to us, please pop into College Street Dental and we would be happy to add to our collection for the hospice.”
