Tropical animal experts are caring for a 17 inch long Bearded Dragon that has been rescued this week after being found roaming in a garden in Highbridge.

The scaly creature was recovered on Wednesday evening (July 24th) after the homeowner alerted wildlife carers from Secret World Wildlife Rescue, near Burnham.

However, Secret World only cares for wild animals and advised that the Tropiquaria Zoo near Watchet would be a better service to collect the exotic pet.

Tropiquaria’s Chris Moiser told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The bearded dragon had been seen in the garden of a Highbridge home for several days but the home owner had been unable to catch it. When it was finally trapped, the animal was taken to Secret World and then referred to us.”

“The dragon is a male adult who is in good health. He is not overweight and has been very well looked after – even his nails have been cut!”

The owner of the Bearded Dragon should contact Tropiquaria on 01984 640688 to reclaim it, mentioning Burnham-On-Sea.com.
