Big-hearted bikers from across the Burnham-On-Sea area will be holding a fundraising bike run and fun day today (Sunday) in memory of Dylan Cecil, the four year-old boy who died after falling into the sea from the town’s jetty last summer.

Dozens of bikers are already signed up to take part in the event which will be held on the town’s seafront.

Proceeds will go to local charities including BARB, the RNLI and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

“We will be meeting on the seafront at 9am before leaving at around 10am and returning around three hours later,” one of the organisers, Phil Hayward, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Stands and entertainment will be set up on the seafront for the fun day, including a bouncy castle, tombola, raffle, auction and craft traders.

Motorcyclists wishing to take part will be asked to make a donation of £5 per bike and rider and £7.50 with pillion. More details from Phil on 07990 833550.

Meanwhile, the weekly Tuesday bike nights in Burnham’s Morrisons car park are set to continue throughout the September, weather permitting. The bikes arrive at 6pm each week and are on show to the public.
