Inquest hearing into Burnham jetty tragedy to be held next week

-

West Somerset’s coroner has announced the date of an inquest hearing into the tragic death of a toddler who fell into the sea from Burnham-On-Sea’s jetty last summer.

Four year-old Dylan Cecil drowned after falling into Bridgwater Bay on August 19th, sparking a huge search operation by the town’s marine rescue services.

His body was found washed up on the beach near Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club four days later.

Coroner Michael Rose will hold the inquest hearing on Thursday, February 28th in Taunton.

Scores of floral tributes were laid on The Esplanade in the days after the tragedy and hundreds of people joined Dylan’s family for a Burnham memorial service in his memory.
