Filming underway on new Burnham-On-Sea community movie

-

Filming work is underway on a unique new film in Burnham-On-Sea that aims to shine a spotlight on the town’s close community.

The Theatre Mélange production company is overseeing the project and is currently filming “Echo Burnham, Portrait of a Coastal Town”.

Burnham is the third seaside town for the Echo project, which has previously produced films on Minehead and Watchet.

Artistic Director Sandy Maberley is leading the production crew, who have been interviewing local people about their memories, experiences and opinions of Burnham and their hopes for its future.

Those interviewed so far include Burnham BMX Club, Marine Cove, Community Centre, RNLI, local artists, Burnham Food Festival and local residents.

The completed film will be screened at the Princess Theatre from September 26-28th.

Tickets for the screening have just gone on sale and are available from the Princess box office on 01278 784464 or www.theprincesstheatre.co.uk
