A special concert raised more than £1,000 for the Highbridge Festival of the Arts at the weekend.

The team behind the popular festival held the sell-out concert on Saturday night and were delighted to raise £1,100 for the long-running event.

A capacity audience at Highbridge Community Centre enjoyed performances by Siobhan Johnson Junior Choir, the Coastline Singers, Curtain Call, Lucy Gunter Dance and Theatre Arts Centre, Burnham On Song, Laura Sandford Hughes, Felicity Berry, Shelia Stone and The Tiso Family.

Concert organiser Greg Fear told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The concert featured the best of local talent – the entertainment value could beat any professional concert.”

He thanked all the acts who performed during the evening, adding that they gave their time for free.

Next year’s festival will be held from March 6th until March 15th and entrants can sign up now by applying for the festival syallabus, as featured here.
