fireworks latest: Tonight's event given the go-ahead
organisers of Burnham-On-Sea's annual seafront fireworks display
have given the final go-ahead to tonight's event (Sunday,
year's fireworks will begin earlier than usual at 6.30pm on The
Esplanade, timed around the high tide, with a dazzling display
from a specially-built platform on the town's jetty (pictured),
performed to a line-up of classical and modern music.
forecasters predicting heavy rain, several meetings of the organisers
were held this afternoon and the final go-ahead was given by the
Town Council at 4.15pm.

This year's event is being funded by Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge
Town Council with support from local businesses including Highbridge
Caravans, Unity Farm, Positive Wealth Creation, Retreat Caravan
Park, Newcombe Caravan Park and Skyburst

which is organised by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council in the
