Organisers of Burnham’s seafront fireworks plan ‘spectacular show’

-

The organisers of Burnham-On-Sea’s annual seafront fireworks display are promising a spectacular show on Sunday evening (November 3rd).

This year’s event will begin earlier than usual at 6.30pm on The Esplanade, timed around the high tide, with a dazzling fireworks show to be performed to a line-up of classical and modern music.

The fireworks will be fired into the sky from the town’s jetty by Skyburst Illuminations.

The event will be free of charge thanks to the sponsorship of local firms, however spectators are being encouraged to give donations to the charity collections being run by Burnham Rotary Club.

The public viewing area will be from the Esplanade, with the beach forming part of the exclusion zone. However, this may have to be extended, as in previous years, depending on weather factors and wind direction on the night.

This year’s event is being funded by Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council with support from local businesses including Highbridge Caravans, Unity Farm, Positive Wealth Creation, Retreat Caravan Park, Newcombe Caravan Park and Skyburst Illuminations.

Large crowds are expected to line The Esplanade to watch the display, which is organised by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council on the night before the annual Burnham-On-Sea Carnival.

Burnham-On-Sea.com will have the very latest on the weather during Sunday, should the conditions risk affecting the display
