New florist shop opened by MP and Mayor in Highbridge town centre

-

Highbridge’s MP and Mayor were the special guests at the opening of a new florist in the town on Saturday (April 20th).

Single mum Laura Cooper, 30, has opened The Flower Fairy opposite Highbridge Post Office in Church Street.

Saturday’s official opening was attended by MP Tessa Munt and Mayor Ken Smout, as pictured here.

“I have always wanted to be my own boss, be in a creative business and provide a long term future for my children,” Laura told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“With the help of the Prince’s Trust, friends and family and my suppliers and supporters, this has all now come true.”

Mayor Ken Smout said: “I am delighted to be supporting this new venture – it is great to see a new business opening in Highbridge and I hope that local people support it not just now but for years to come.”

Tessa added: “I am thrilled to support this new business in Highbridge. Laura has shown that with hard work and determination, you can succeed, even in these challenging economic times.”
