Crowds of visitors flocked to Burnham-On-Sea Horticultural Society’s annual Spring Show on Saturday (March 9th).
Organisers said the event, which was held in St Andrew’s School, had been “a resounding success” with more than 200 entries on display even though the number was down.
Show Secretary David Bryant told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We saw a good quality of entries again this year, but the numbers were down.”
“The wet winter created difficult growing conditions for the floral entries. Many growers had to cultivate their daffodils indoors and this affected the quality.”
In addition to flowers, the entries included gardening, cookery, floral art and photography.
The overall trophy for the best exhibit in the show went to Diane Phillips.
And the cup for the most points in the children’s classes was won by Ophelia Buckton.
