Bird trapped in netting on Apex fishing lake rescued by wildlife carers

-

Wildlife rescuers retrieved a bird trapped in netting on the fishing lakes at Highbridge’s Apex Park on Sunday afternoon (August 25th).

Secret World’s carers were contacted by several concerned walkers at the park who had seen the distressed goose struggling in the water.

The bird was captured by a Secret World volunteer onboard BARB’s inshore rescue boat and taken away for treatment.

A Secret World spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There was concern that a member of the public might put themselves in danger by entering the water to reach the bird, so we were very grateful for BARB’s help. The bird is now in good hands at Secret World.”
