Burnham-On-Sea carnival club issues urgent plea to find new home

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club has this week issued an urgent plea for help after discovering it will soon be ‘homeless’.

The long-running club is set to lose its existing premises in Highbridge, which are being sold, leaving it with nowhere to build this year’s float.

Hillview’s Chairman, Mark Bishop, pictured right with designer Matt Aron, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve used our current site at Woodberry Brothers in Highbridge for three years, but unfortunately it’s being sold and we won’t be able to build our float there this year.”

“Woodberry’s and the Bristol Bridge Inn have been very kind in letting us use their land over the years, but now we urgently need to find somewhere new.”

“We are really struggling to find a new base and need help if we are to build our entry in time for this year’s carnival.”

Mark added: “We are looking for a large farmer’s barn or a similar-sized building of around 50ft x 50ft. Anyone who can help can contact us on 07789 682576.”
