Burnham-On-Sea’s carnival club has finished the season by being crowned the county runners-up in their class.

Hillview Carnival Club’s entry, called Luck Of The Irish, received plenty of support from spectators along the routes of the events on the Guy Fawkes carnival circuit.

The cart clinched second place in the juvenile category behind Marina Sydenham at each of the carnivals it competed in – Burnham, Bridgwater, Wells, Glastonbury, Weston, North Petherton and Shepton Mallet.

“It’s been a very special carnival season for us,” Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “We had possibly the youngest group of children ever on our cart who gave it their all and entertained thousands of people. They helped the club gain the county runners-up spot which is brilliant!”
