Great afternoon of live music in store at Burnham’s Jazz In The Park

-

An afternoon of top jazz and swing music will be performed at Burnham-On-Sea’s Jazz In The Park on Sunday (June 9th).

The annual free event in the Manor Gardens will include music from two well established jazz bands between 12.30pm and 5pm.

The Roger Bond Band (pictured) will make a sentimental return, having played many years ago in the early days in the park.

And the Panama Jazz Band will headline the day. They recently recorded their first CD locally and copies will be on sale at the event.

“The Bristol-based band is a very talented group of musicians including Trumpet, Sax, Clarinet, Banjo, Guitar, Bass and Drums to give an unrivalled sound from upbeat numbers such as High Society and When the Saints to gentler tunes like Stranger on the shore, plus a touch of Rock n’ Roll,” said organiser Mike Murphy.

Nick and Chris Elswood are playing a blues set with Nick providing guitar and vocals with Chris on Blues harp.

Brodericks ice creams and a kidzone with a covered bouncy castle will provide lots of fun. Real ale, lager, cider, wine and soft drinks will flow and a burger bar will also be on site. This event sees a bumper raffle with lots on offer.
