kurling group to launch in Burnham-On-Sea this week
brand new sport of indoor kurling comes to Burnham-On-Sea this
week when a new group holds its first sessions.
first of the weekly sessions will be held in The Princess Theatre
from this Thursday (3rd October), meeting from 12 noon - 3pm and
kurling is simple to play and is suitable for most ages and abilities,
including wheelchair users or people who have difficulty standing.
There's no ice involved and you can play while sitting,"
organiser Brian Saunders told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

the kurling stones are on wheels and controlled by sticks, there's
no need for ice and it is great fun. If it's successful, I would
like to take the sport into local schools to expand the interest
County Council has provided a grant of £1,000 to the group
via its health and wellbeing budget.
Peter Burridge-Clayton, who presented the grant, said: "It's
great that the council is able to support such a healthy activity
that will benefit local people of all ages and abilities."
