Long queues on M5 after caravan overturns near Burnham-On-Sea

A caravan overturned on the M5 near Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday afternoon, causing long delays for motorists.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 23 for Highbridge and junction 22 for Burnham, just before 3pm.

Two lanes were closed to allow recovery services access to the scene. There were not believed to have been any serious injuries.

Long queues of traffic developed for until around 6pm, with drivers turning to alternative routes such as the A38 through Highbridge instead.
