Burnham-On-Sea seafront gardens to host Mad Hatters’ Tea Party

-

A mad hatters’ tea party is set to be held in Burnham-On-Sea this Saturday (June 8th).

The unique event will be held at the town’s Marine Cove seafront gardens from 11am.

Visitors will be able to take part in a range of fun games and also find out about how to volunteer for local groups.

Organiser Gaynor Brown from Burnham Town Team said: “The Mad Hatter element demands silly games and competitions, led by a team of eight of the Alice in Wonderland Characters, when visitors will be encouraged to attend with their own mad hat.”

“In addition, local groups from Burnham have been invited to set up stands to tell the public what their group are involved in and how residents can volunteer to help various causes.”

Co-organiser Jonathan Smith added: “It’s going be a great day of fun and games and your chance to sign up to do some volunteering this summer. Volunteering looks good on your CV and you’d be surprised how much fun it can be.”

“Our army of volunteers for the Town Team are dubbed ‘purple people’ because of their hi-visibility vests. They take part in many events during the season, marshalling and stewarding at events including the Tea Party, Pirate Day on the Beach, the Victorian weekend and others.”
