New flag raised at Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens

-

A ceremony was held on Saturday (July 27th) to unveil a new flag at Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens.

Sedgemoor District Council Chairman Peter Downing formally unveiled the new flag and flagpole during Saturday’s Pirate Fun Day and he praised the team who run the gardens.

The flag features the Friends Of Marine Cove’s distinctive frog logo, which was designed by Churchfield School pupil Sam Morris as part of a design competition.

The new flag pole has recently been installed at the front of the gardens on the north Esplanade following a successful grant application to Sedgemoor District Council earlier this year.

The gardens are due to hear over the next few days whether they have retained their Green Flag Award, given by Keep Britain Tidy to well-managed, high-quality green spaces that are freely accessible to the public.
