Medieval tournament set to be held on Burnham beach today

A medieval-themed fair will be held on Burnham-On-Sea beach today (Sunday, August 11th).

Hobby horse jousting and a medieval tournament are among the activities being planned by a group of fundraisers in aid of Burnham's Care Centre in College Street.

The afternoon will begin at 2pm with the arrival of a group of knights and pages, followed at 2.30pm by the arrival of a 'royal party'.

A medieval tournament and a number of fun activities for families to watch will be held throughout the afternoon. There will also be stalls and a fair.

"Come and support us on the beach by the Pavilion on what we hope will be a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon," organiser Gaynor Brown told
