Melting snow and heavy rain could cause some flooding in the Burnham-On-Sea area over the next few days, says the Met Office.

It has issued a yellow warning for the whole of the south west region, as pictured, on both Friday and Sunday as temperatures rise.

Rain will fall on Friday, possibly preceded by snow on its leading edge, but this will quickly turn to rain.

Then, on Sunday, heavy rain totalling 10-20mm is forecast to fall in the Burnham area.

“A combination of rain and snow melt could lead to localised minor surface water and river flooding. The public should be aware of potential disruption to travel,” says the Met Office.
