Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards were called out at 4.30am on Thursday morning (October 24th) to launch a beach search for a missing vulnerable person.

Police were concerned for the welfare of the lady and asked for the help of Burnham’s Coastguard team in searching the coastline while a police helicopter searched from overhead.

Burnham Coastguard Officer Ian Jefferies told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We conducted a thorough torch-lit search of Burnham’s beach and the River Brue estuary for the lady. We were happy to give the police our support in this incident.”

A police spokesperson said the lady had been found safely.
