Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards support Movember campaign

-

Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Coastguard team have new looks this month as they join the ranks of moustache-growing supporters of a charity campaign.

The crewmembers have been growing moustaches since the beginning of the month in support of the worldwide Movember effort to raise awareness of and money for men’s health.

“By taking part, we hope to raise money for a very good cause and also raise awareness about prostate cancer,” Burnham Coastguard Nigel Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We’ve already had a lot of support from those wanting to give towards the cause and have raised around £300 from sponsorship so far but we’d like to exceed £500.”

Funds from Movember go to the Prostate Cancer charity and the Institute of Cancer Research.
