Lucky escape for couple in overturned car on M5 near Burnham

-

A couple have had a lucky escape after their car overturned on the M5 motorway near Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the southbound sliproad of the M5 at junction 23 for Highbridge on Sunday night after the driver of the Vauxhall car, pictured here, lost control and flipped over.

“Two people in the car – a man and a woman – were both treated at the scene for shock and minor injuries by ambulance crews,” ambulance spokesman Dave Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The sliproad was partially closed for two hours while emergency services were at the scene, re-opening shortly before midnight. Icy road conditions may have been a contributory cause to the accident.
