Police issue appeal after burglary at Burnham-On-Sea shop

-

Police have appealed for witnesses after burglars stole a large quantity of mobile phones during a break-in at this shop in Burnham-On-Sea yesterday (Saturday, January 19th).

A window was smashed at ‘Bits and Pieces’ in College Street during the early hours to gain access to the property.

Police were called to the scene early on Saturday, as pictured here, when the shop’s window was being boarded up.

“Around 25 mobile phones and an iPod were stolen,” the shop’s Emma Harris told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It is very annoying and we urge anyone who saw anything to get in contact with the police.”

It is the latest in a series of crimes against shops in Burnham town centre. Two shops were targeted by vandals over Christmas, as reported here, and the Bay View Cafe on the seafront was also broken into, as featured here.

Witnesses and anyone with information should contact Burnham-On-Sea Police via the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
