Organisers gear up for 18th annual Brean Rally as 85 drivers sign up

-

Over 80 drivers are gearing up to take part in the 18th annual Brean Rally, which is set to return to the village’s Leisure Park in January.

The 2014 Brean Stages Rally will be held over the weekend of January 25th and 26th and will form the opening round of the Association of South Western Motor Clubs and the Cotswold Motor Sport Group Rally Championships.

The rally will be held entirely within the confines of Brean Leisure Park and up to 85 rally cars will tackle the twelve special stages over the two days.

“This will be the eighteenth consecutive year for the rally at Brean and it promises to be as exciting as ever,” organiser Rod McKenna told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Among the entries expected will be drivers from not only the South West but from all around the UK including a contingent from the Channel Islands.”

“The rally will contain its usual range of cars, from the ever popular Ford Escorts, Vauxhall Nova’s, Corsa’s, and Peugeots, through to the more exotic, state of the art World Rally Cars, such as the Ford Fiesta and Focus, Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishis.”

The organisers are ensuring that spectators will be well looked after with covered seated grandstand and heated al-fresco snacks available in the spectator areas. All other indoor catering facilities will also be available within the park. Spectators will be admitted to the park over both days for an admission charge of just £5 (accompanied children under 12 will be admitted free) and car parking will be £5.
