Highbridge firm provides counselling to its staff after fatal roof fall

-

Staff at a Highbridge factory where a man has died after falling from a high roof have been offered counselling this week.

Police said the man passed away in Frenchay Hospital last Friday after suffering head injuries in a fall from a high roof at Cooper B-Line in Commerce Way.

The firm’s spokesman David Sturge told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I can confirm that last Friday in the late morning a member of staff was fatally injured in a fall.”

“The factory was closed over the weekend and work resumed on a limited basis on Monday. We have offered counselling to all staff this week.”

“The cause of the incident has not yet been determined and an investigation is underway by the police and Health and Safety Executive which we are fully co-operating with. We will take any appropriate action necessary.”

“Our thoughts are with the family of our colleague at this time and we are offering them full support.”
