Fire crews tackled a big blaze at a commercial premises in Rooksbridge on Thursday morning.

Eight fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and other stations across Somerset were initially called to battle the fire, which broke out at 3.30am.

The fire affected the Rooksbridge depot of Livefood UK, an internet-based company supplying live insects such as locusts to owners of reptiles and other exotic animals across the country.

Crews found storage unit measuring 50m x 22m containing live feed well alight and got to work using hose reel jets and breathing apparatus.

Crews used portable pumps to get water from a nearby swimming pool to extinguish the fire. Crews were still at the scene at 9am, as pictured here.
