-

A new shop which is set to open in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea next week in place of a former dry cleaners has issued an appeal for volunteers.

The new Children’s Society shop is set to be opened by Burnham’s Mayor on October 9th.

The prominent premises at 53 The High Street, on the corner of Cross Street, has been empty since Johnsons Dry Cleaners (right) closed down in 2012, as reported here.

Shop manager Maxine Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week that the team are busily preparing for the opening next Wednesday at 10am and that they are keen to hear from any volunteers who would like to help in the shop.

“We are delighted to be opening a brand new store in Burnham which will be among our chain of 80 shops across the UK that raise money to help support disadvantaged children.”
